I do a targeted search every night and when I wake up in the morning the only thing left to do is connect and start building relationships with like minded people from my direct messages. Sure I get some spam but the list auto DM’s I get are targeted people waiting for me to send them a reply. This is huge and so many people don’t take advantage of this simple technique.

What happens if you send an @reply to multiple people? Who sees the message and who doesn’t?
I check my @replies more often then any other message on Twitter. At the bottom of your tweets you can also see what tools people are using when sending you tweets. For Example: 32 minutes ago via HootSuite or about 1 hours ago via Twitterrific. This is also a great way to keep an eye out for new tools or apps people are using.

STOP-Losing Your Followers On Twitter
Have you ever lost followers on Twitter and wonder why?
You could be making HUGE mistakes and not even know it.
Every so often Twitter will clean house, delete tens of thousands of accounts identified as spam accounts. When Twitter does this everyone loses followers and in this case it’s a good thing.
If your not growing your following on Twitter or if you are losing followers, listed below could be some of the reasons why.
Auto Direct Message: These things are very annoying, and there is nothing personal about them. For example, “Thanks for following me, learn more about me on facebook! Be sure to check out my website!”. What’s worse is when people resend the same direct message the same day or a few days later to tell you the same thing, like one is not enough. If you are going to send an auto DM make sure the message has value.
Blasting Tweets: Are you one of those people who send out ten or more posts at once that fill up the entire Twitter stream? You need to give others a chance to speak or join in on the conversation. When you spam, all people see is a wall of your smiley face picture with useless information. If you ever wonder why you lose a bunch of followers on Twitter all at once, this could be the biggest reason.
Over Promoting: Do you only post about your website? People will think you are a robot if all you do is send out tweets about your website and tell people to check it out. Try to connect with others by interacting on Twitter before asking them to check out your website. When someone posts something interesting, then you should retweet it to your followers and can talk about it.
Proper Follow Up: When people ask you questions through a “@reply” or direct messages, make sure you respond to them. You may have posted something interesting that caught their attention and they want to connect with you. Connect with these people and they may recommend you to their followers and so on.
Keep It Clean: Many people use twitter at work or a place to broad cast information. Profanity is not something they can afford to have flashing on their computer. Most people will immediately unfollow, block or worse yet report you as spam.
Just remember, tweet others the way you want to be tweeted.
