The World is Big Enough for Facebook and Twitter
Twitter CEO says “The World is Big Enough for Facebook and Twitter
As reported by Ben Parr on Mashable.com
The Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco has just started, but the conference has already brought some heavy hitters on stage, including Comcast CEO Brian Roberts and Paypal CEO Scott Thompson.
Just moments ago, Twitter Co-Founder and CEO Evan Williams took the stage with Federated Media CEO John Batelle to discuss revenue models, Facebook, potential acquisitions, and Twitter’s (potentially stagnating) growth.
Here are some of the highlights:

The Responsibility Of The Blogger Who Tweets
I have been blogging for many years. I believe this year will conclude as my 6th year blogging. Believe me, it has changed quite a bit. More tools have changed to be more community oriented as the content pulls in people who want to continue on the topics through whatever comment system has been integrated. Bloggers went from hard coding plain HTML or simple php sites without comments, to using simple outside comment resources like Haloscan (haloscan), and then finally to blog platforms like WordPress (wordpress), and many others. Bloggers now use social network sites like Twitter and other sites to push their content to the masses. However, I have been finding that there are people pushing their content in a manner that may detract from their own site.

Help me #BeatCancer with Twitter
Help me #BeatCancer
UPDATE: #BeatCancer Sets Guinness World Record, Raises Over $70,000.
Twitter was swamped over the weekend and still continues to be by a great cause: #BeatCancer gets companies to donate 1 cent for every tweet containing that hashtag. It’s been a huge success so far, with hundreds of thousands of tweets being posted over the weekend..
The concept is simple. For every tweet, Facebook status update, or blog post containing the #beatcancer hashtag, eBay/PayPal and MillerCoors will be donating 1 cent to cancer research. With a captive audience of social media diehards, the hope is that the campaign will go viral and raise significant money for several charities.
More details are available on the beatcancereverywhere.com website, along with badges that you can embed on your blog/website to further expand the reach of the campaign. The site is also tracking total mentions, so you can see how the campaign is progressing throughout the day.
Word of Caution: It’s against Twitter’s Terms of Service to add unrelated hashtags to Tweets, since this is a common tactic of spammers wishing to get results with the Twitter search. No matter what, the #BeatCancer campaign is an inspired idea that’s raising thousands of dollars for charity. Yay~
Please leave us your comments..

Tweet with Flexibility
Tweet with Flexibility
Twitter became popular in part due to the thousands of different ways to post and view Tweets. While some people tweet on twitter directly, other people enjoy the flexibility and additional options of 3rd party Twitter clients like tweetdeck, hootsuite and Seesmic. Stay with us as we show you the features and benefits of three cool twitter clients. Then you decide which one makes the most sense to you for time saving ease, flexibility and customization
Tweetdeck
Tweetdeck is an Adobe AIR desktop Twitter application that has many great options that works with both Mac & PC. Tweetdeck works for connecting you with your contacts across Twitter and other social sites. Tweetdeck shows you everything you want to see at once, so you can stay organized and up to date. See what’s trending, get in sync, manage multiple twitter accounts easily and much more. Currently Tweetdeck is listed as the most popular 3rd party Twitter Client.
HootSuite
Hootsuite is a web based alternative meaning you don’t need to download or install anything. The interface is very flexible and you can create nice layouts just the way you want them. You can have multiple tabs, with each tab showing up to four columns of tweets. You can drag and drop columns and tabs, change width of columns, and set individual refresh intervals for each tab. Columns can be used for Groups, Mentions, DMs, and Searches similar to Tweetdeck and Seesmic.
The unique features of HootSuite are:
-Co-workers can tweet from the same Twitter account.
-You can track the number of clicks on the links you tweet.
-You can schedule tweets for later.
-You can feed any RSS/Atom feed to your Twitter account.
-You can use Ping.fm with HootSuite to broadcast tweets to other networks
-The Hootlet is a bookmarklet for your browser toolbar to tweet about a web page
Seesmic
Seesmic provides both a web based and a downloadable Adobe AIR version that works with both Mac & PC.
Seesmic Adobe Air version is a lot like TweetDeck and HootSuite combined.
The Seesmic web based version is not as powerful as the Adobe AIR version. The web based is an attractive option if you are following a limited number of people from a single account.

Tweetup
Tweetup?
A Tweetup is a real world meeting between two or more people who know each other through Twitter.
This is an excellent opportunity to engage, build relationships, and provide value with multiple people at one time in person. Meeting your friends and followers in a group setting will give you the option to share ideas and take your relationships to the next level.
To locate or start a tweetup in your area visit twtvite twtvite.com. You can also do a search or ask your followers by tweeting them for other social networking events. (Attending other networking events is another great way to connect with people in your niche or target market.)

Twitter Lists
Twitter Lists: Live and in Beta
We reported here on Twitterwatchdog that the new Twitter list feature was coming..
Guess what?
It appears the Twitter lists feature is now live and in beta for a certain amount of people. At the time of this post, it is not available on my account but is available for some of my friends and followers.
The new Twitter “Lists” feature allows users to create a list of people that others can follow with a click.
To create a list, just go to your Twitter page, where there’s now a section on the right-hand sidebar called “Lists.” Click “New List” and you’re on your way to giving your followers an easy way to follow your favorite Twitter users.
