Twitter Lists: Live and in Beta

We reported here on Twitterwatchdog that the new Twitter list feature was coming..

Guess what?
It appears the Twitter lists feature is now live and in beta for a certain amount of people. At the time of this post, it is not available on my account but is available for some of my friends and followers.

The new Twitter “Lists” feature allows users to create a list of people that others can follow with a click.

To create a list, just go to your Twitter page, where there’s now a section on the right-hand sidebar called “Lists.” Click “New List” and you’re on your way to giving your followers an easy way to follow your favorite Twitter users.

There are a couple different ways to add people to a list. You can either browse through the list of people you follow, which can be quite cumbersome if you follow a lot of people, or, you can just visit their profiles one-by-one and add them to the list of your choice, using a new “Lists” pull-down that appears in user profiles.

Want to know what lists include you?
Next to your Follower and Following count is a “Lists” count, replacing what used to be your “Tweets” count (which has been made smaller and bumped up above these three numbers). Click on this number and you’ll get a page showing the lists that follow you and the lists that you are following.

Please leave us your comments.
Do you have the list feature yet?
Are you using it? Like or dislike?

Watching out for you, one tweet at a time

I’ve got it and yes, it’s excellent for categorizing followers. I have created a couple of Public Lists and one Private List. Private, because it cannot be invaded by people with spam intentions for the list. Only one thing I couldn’t find and that was an individual profile delete button. Somehow, I included a young lady in one of my public lists who’s basically selling herself (know where I’m coming from!). Although I’ve unfollowed her, I cannot find a delete button within the List. So, anyway viewing my List will see a stream of seedy tweets from this girl. Think I’ll have to delete the List total and start again.

    All the best,

Skeeter Hansen reports that he’ll be doing a short how to video on the new Twitter “lists” feature soon.

Currently, we have received other reports like you Steve, that said they can not or do not know how to delete someone on their list. Stay Tuned for updates my friend.
