[...] Skeeter Hanson and Al Ferretti had a great post on Twitter WatchDog today. The question asked was are you engaging your prospects and clients on Twitter or are you just a spammer? Personally, I have no clue why spammers exist - I think they would (or should) have better things to do with their time, than to make troubles and messes for others. How would they have a monetary gain from such escapades?
Hi Lori~

Thanks for the comment, you make good points.

We are currently in the final stages of completing a one year twitter project called. Tweet Formula.
Tweet Formula will teach and train you step by step how to successfully monetize your business on Twitter. http://tweetformula.com
What you asked will be included in that.... more to come on TwitterWatchDog too

Hi Guys--

Thanks for your great tips...but an example of spam for the "amateurs" would be really helpful...sometimes we (a big collective we) think we are being super clear when we tell people to connect and make relationships, but obviously we (or at least some of us) are not!

So here's an example

I just became a fan of _____(fill in the blank) You should join too. @alferretti @skeeterhansen @joeblow

To me it doesn't matter if you are selling something for money or encouraging an action...this kind of tweet is Spam and does not build a relationship or start a conversation.

Other tweets that are in response to a direct tweet that I made, even if they are selling something, I would not consider Spam--although I would consider it rude if the first time you attempt to connect with me you are trying to get me to buy.
