You keep hitting the nail on the head... Thank you for keeping on pointing out what in retrospect may seem obvoius, but is so easy to forget in the routine at work. Personally, vote for the "most" essential tip is no. 20

A great list of practical ideas. Thanks guys. Great work on the site, excellent info as usual. Good on you.

Steven, if you see this, there's a great and very thorough review of The Tweet Tank here: http://eCa.sh/tweettankreview

I'm glad I found it, because I too had been considering the program. I was leery, and after the finding that review, glad I didn't spend any money.

Generally speaking, I agree with Skeeter....

As to adding Twitter followers, the trend seems to be towards lessor numbers of GOOD followers, as opposed to sheer numbers. Somebody I read recently said he'd rather have 100 truly interested followers over 1000 who are playing the "follower churn" game, and I think this is right.

I know of many folks who had HUGE followings who have dumped them all to start over again, doing it the right way. The big numbers of followers sure look impressive, but one of the things Twitter looks at is your ratio of Following to Followers. If you're about at about 1:1 and the numbers are large, you can be sure most of those folks aren't really paying any attention to you, and in Twitter's judgement, that's a strike against you.

Be advised...

Dear Steven,
Like with most things in life, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I don’t like to say bad things about another product but I don’t know how it’s possible to generate 20,000+ followers in a month unless you’re a celebrity. I have seen dozens of similar programs like this and would advise you to use caution to keep your Twitter account from getting suspended. I hope this helps and thank you for asking me for my advise. If in doubt, what does your gut tell you?
